No. It is designed for an adult account holder aged 18 or over. Children take part alongside you — drawing, choosing pictures, telling the story — but they do not have accounts and the AI tools belong to the grown-up. See children and family safety.

The drawing canvas, photo editing, unlimited projects and pages, narration you record yourself, music, PDF export, and video export are all free forever, with no watermark and no trial countdown. Studio Plus is a subscription that adds the AI creation tools. See pricing.

Yes, for everything that runs on your device — drawing, editing, page layout, recording narration, and exporting. Only the AI features need a connection.

They stay on your device by default. If you opt in to Studio Plus cloud backup, project media is stored privately in Firebase for recovery and device sync; that is separate from AI processing. Free projects make no third-party AI calls. Before an AI action, the app shows what will be sent and asks for confirmation. See privacy and how your data is used with AI.

It can illustrate a scene, and it can turn a drawing into a finished picture. It cannot reliably reproduce a specific person’s face and we do not offer any feature that tries to — no face recognition, no likeness transfer, no biometric templates. If the likeness matters, use the photograph.

A credit measures AI creation use. Every generation has a real cost behind it, so ‘unlimited’ would mean either losing money on heavy users or throttling them quietly. Credits are less comfortable to advertise and more honest to live with. See how credits work.

You keep them. Projects stay on your device and you can open, edit, and export them. Existing cloud backups remain available to restore, while creating or updating backups requires Studio Plus.

Projects stay local by default. A signed-in Studio Plus account can opt in to private cloud backup, automatic backup, and restore on another device. Every user can also export a portable .ddstory archive. See back up and move your projects.

You can export a page-by-page PDF today for reading or ordinary home printing. A commercial-print PDF with selectable paper size, higher resolution, and bleed is not available yet. Ordering a bound hardcover directly from the app is also in development.

Android 7.0 and later, and iOS 15 and later. It is portrait-first at the moment; a proper tablet and landscape layout is on the roadmap.

In the app, go to Account → Delete account. See account deletion for exactly what is removed. Remember to cancel your subscription in your app store first — deleting the account does not cancel billing.
