What's next
Roadmap
What we are building next for Doodle Dragon Studio, what we are considering, and what we have decided not to do.
We would rather tell you what is missing than imply everything is finished. This page is updated as things move. Nothing here is a promise with a date on it, but the ordering is real.
Recently completed
Cloud backup and restore
Studio Plus now offers opt-in private project backup, automatic backup, conflict
review, Cloud Trash, and restore on another device. Local-only work and portable
.ddstory archives remain fully supported.
Account deletion in the app
Signed-in parents can permanently delete their Firebase account, private cloud data, and associated RevenueCat customer from the Account tab. The email route remains available when the app cannot be accessed.
Building now
Commercial-print PDF export
The current app exports one fixed portrait PDF format for reading and ordinary home printing. A higher-resolution export with selectable paper size, crop and bleed settings, and clearer print guidance still needs to be built and tested before it can be sold as a Studio Plus benefit.
Complete media editing controls
The first on-device photo editor ships with curated looks plus Light, Contrast, Colour, and Warmth. Crop, rotate, and straighten are next, followed by mobile-safe video trim and playback controls and audio trim and fades.
Recovery and accessibility cleanup
Page Trash, an in-app bulk local-data deletion action, and full restart recovery for in-progress AI jobs are not in the current release. The Account tab’s legacy learner settings also need to be replaced by a dedicated Accessibility screen, followed by complete TalkBack, VoiceOver, large-text, and contrast testing.
Printed keepsake books
Order a real bound hardcover or softcover of a finished project, printed and posted to you. This is the thing people ask us for most, and honestly it is what a keepsake app should have had from the start.
Audio mixing on iOS
Video export currently mixes narration, page audio, and music on Android only. Bringing other platforms to parity.
Next up
Character consistency
Keeping the same character recognisable across every page of a book. This is the single most common request from people making picture books, and the hardest thing on this list.
Tablet and landscape layouts
The app is portrait-first. A proper tablet layout, with the canvas given the room it deserves, is overdue.
Credit packs
One-off top-ups for months when you are making more than usual. We are waiting to see real usage data before deciding the size and price — building this before we know would be guessing.
More languages
The app is English-only today. Spanish, French, and German are the likely first additions.
Considering
- Shared viewing links — a private link so a grandparent can read a book without installing anything
- A web reader for exported books
- More art styles and template packs
- Recipe and holiday book templates
- Generated background music, once we can do it well and price it fairly
- Collaborative projects, so two parents can work on the same book
Decided against
Being clear about this is as useful as the rest:
- A public gallery or social feed. Not building it. What you make is yours and goes where you send it.
- Child accounts. The adult holds the account. See family safety.
- Face matching or likeness transfer. Not building it, at any price.
- Advertising. No ads, no ad SDKs, ever.
- “Unlimited AI” marketing. Every generation has a real cost. Credits are less comfortable to advertise and more honest to live with.
Tell us what you need
Feature requests from actual users are what move things up this list. Email support@mcntech.com and tell us what you were trying to make and what got in the way. That is far more useful to us than a proposed solution.
Start with one drawing
