Terms of use

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Doodle Dragon Studio (“the app”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is provided by MCN Technologies (“we”, “us”).

2. Who may use it

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account and to use the AI creation features. The app is designed for a parent or caregiver to operate.

Children may take part alongside an adult — drawing, choosing pictures, telling stories — but must not have their own account. You are responsible for supervising any child who uses the app with you.

3. Your content is yours

You retain all ownership of what you put into the app and what you make with it: your drawings, your photographs, your text, and the finished books you export.

We claim no ownership of your content. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not publish it or place it in a public gallery. Content is shared only when you choose a destination, enable private cloud backup, or request a feature that needs a service provider.

You grant us only the permission needed to provide an action you deliberately choose: temporarily processing selected content for an AI action, or storing and transmitting a project through optional private cloud backup and device sync.

4. Content you are responsible for

You confirm that you have the right to use everything you import, including photographs, and that you have the consent of any identifiable person in them.

You agree not to use the app to create or attempt to create:

• sexual content involving minors, or any sexualised depiction of a child;
• content that harasses, defames, or impersonates a real person;
• content that infringes another person’s intellectual property;
• content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction;
• content intended to deceive, such as fabricated evidence or fake records.

We may suspend or terminate accounts used for any of the above. AI providers also apply their own safety filters and may refuse requests independently of us.

5. Free features and subscription features

The app has free features that run on your device, and Studio Plus subscription features that provide optional private cloud backup and third-party AI services.

Subscriptions

• Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Their terms apply to the transaction.
• Prices are set per country and shown in your currency by your app store.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel through your app store, not through us. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds

Refunds are granted or refused by Apple or Google under their own policies. See manage your subscription.

6. Credits

Credits measure AI creation use within the app.

• Credits are not money. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, transferred, or withdrawn.
• Credits are granted monthly to monthly and annual subscribers alike.
• Credits belong to the credit period in which they were granted and expire at the end of it. They do not currently roll over.
• Credits are consumed when an AI action is performed. The cost is displayed before you confirm.
• If an action fails, is refused on safety grounds, or returns empty or corrupt output, the credits are returned automatically.
• Credits are not returned for a successful generation you did not like.
• We may change credit costs for future actions. Material changes will be shown in the app before they take effect.

7. If your subscription ends

You keep your projects and can continue to open, edit, and export them. Existing cloud backups remain available to restore after Studio Plus ends, subject to retention and deletion rules, but creating or updating cloud backups requires an active subscription.

8. Local projects and optional cloud backup

Projects are stored and edited locally by default. If you uninstall the app, reset the device, or lose it without a backup, those local projects may be lost. Export .ddstory archives for portable, provider-independent backups.

A signed-in Studio Plus account may optionally back up projects privately for recovery and use on another signed-in device. Backups can include project text, settings, images, videos, and audio. Cloud backup is separate from AI processing. Conflicting edits may require you to choose between the cloud and device copies. See back up and move your projects.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. AI features depend on third-party providers and may be temporarily unavailable, changed, or withdrawn. We may enable or disable individual AI capabilities remotely — for example during an outage or while qualifying a new model.

If we withdraw a capability permanently, projects that used it remain openable and exportable.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account — see account deletion.

Deleting the account permanently removes private project backups and associated cloud account data, but it does not remove projects stored only on your device and does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of section 4, for fraudulent purchases, or where required by law.

11. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is”. AI-generated output is produced by third-party models and may be inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable. Review everything before using it, printing it, or reading it to a child.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or projects. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Consumers may have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top will be updated. Continuing to use the app after that constitutes acceptance.
